Ellinikon Gefsipoleion opened in 2012 on Ethnikis Amynis Street, in the centre of Drama, and has since become a go-to for Mediterranean food without unnecessary fuss. Owner and chef Stefanos Theodoridis runs the kitchen and created every recipe on the menu himself. Meals start with appetisers and salads, then move on to risotto, pasta, meat and seafood, all made with fresh ingredients and served in generous portions. To drink, there are wines from the area’s wineries, a natural choice in a region known for its vineyards. The dining room blends a Mediterranean feel with modern touches: simple, well kept and made for a relaxed dinner with friends or family.
